Close collaboration between Thoracic surgery and OesophagoGastric surgery 2017-04-05

The UEMS Section of Surgery is pleased to announce its exciting project: the creation of a cooperation between the Oesophago-Gastric Surgery Division/ UEMS Section of Surgery and the division of Oesophageal Surgery/ Section of Thoracic Surgery that will encompass both upper Oesophago-Gastric and Thoracic Surgery. This decision was enthusiastically made because of matching interests. The first fellows are warmly encouraged to participate in the EBSQ examination in Utrecht in November (ESDE conference), and then a common working area is expected to come into existence in 2018. The syllabus, knowledge and skills section is currently a work in progress. We look forward to embarking on this adventure with you!

Oesophago-Gastric Surgery Division 2016-06-17

Tribute to Lars Påhlman 2015-12-02

It is with deep sorrow that the UEMS heard of Professor Lars Påhlman's death on 21st November 2015. Professor Påhlman was a founding member of the Coloproctology Division, served as a Chairman of the Division and as an examiner from the very beginning until 2015.
