Statutes of the Division of Surgical Oncology associated with the UEMS Section of Surgery

Art 1.

The Division of Surgical Oncology of the Section of Surgery of the UEMS has been established. The current President is Schlomo Schneebaum and the Secretary is P. Bretcha Boix.

Art 2.

The Division of Surgical Oncology is under the auspices and the authority of the Section of Surgery of the UEMS.

Art 3.

The European Board of Surgery Qualification in Surgical Oncology (EBSQ-Oncology), arranged through the Division of Surgical Oncology is held under the authority and responsibility of the European Board of Surgery.

Art 4.

Eligibility criteria for admission to the EBSQ-Surgical Oncology are laid down by the European Board of Surgery.

Art 5.

Current eligibility for the examination are that candidates should have completed their surgical training and should have spent at least one year in a multidisciplinary setting of formal training in surgical oncology.

Art 6.

Applications for the examination should be to the EBSQ office.

Art 7.

There is a charge, currently of 500.00 Euro for eligibility criteria to be satisfied and for the administration of the examination.

Art 8.

The Examination consists of multiple choice questionnaires and a series of oral examinations on the principles and practice of surgical oncology.

Art 9.

Candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria and who satisfactorily complete the examination will be awarded the EBSQ in Surgical Oncology by the European Board of Surgery of the UEMS.
